Cookie Information

A note about the storage technologies this shop uses. The Merchant's shop keeps things simple and does not track you across the web.

Does the shop use cookies?

The shop itself does not set or read any HTTP cookies. The shop does not use analytics, advertising trackers, remarketing pixels, social-media plugins, or any third-party cookies.

Browser storage the shop uses

Instead of cookies, the shop uses your browser's built-in storage to keep a few things working between pages:

  • localStorage — Curiosity Cabinet cart (littleOdditiesCabinet). Stores the treasures you have set aside so they are ready when you go to checkout. If you sign in as a Recognised Traveller, your saved cart is moved to a per-account key (littleOdditiesCabinet:<customer-id>) so it travels with your account.
  • localStorage or sessionStorage — your account session (lo_customer_token and lo_customer_info). When you sign in, the Merchant stores your session token and basic customer info so you stay recognised. If you tick "Remember this Traveller", this is saved in localStorage and persists across visits. If you do not, it is kept in sessionStorage and is cleared when you close the tab.

Is any storage optional?

The cart storage (localStorage) and the account session storage are strictly necessary for the shop to function — without them the Curiosity Cabinet and sign-in would not work. There is no optional (non-essential) storage, no analytics, and no advertising technology on this site.

Third-party storage

The shop works with a few services, each of which may set its own storage in your browser when you interact with it:

  • Stripe — when you proceed to payment, you are redirected to Stripe's hosted checkout. Stripe may set cookies of its own in line with its own privacy policy.
  • Formspree — when you send a letter through the contact form, Formspree handles the delivery. Formspree may set cookies as needed to operate the form service.
  • Google Fonts — on certain pages the Merchant loads the Caveat font from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. Google Fonts is a font-delivery service and is not used for tracking, but it is a third-party resource.

See Traveller's Privacy for how these services are used in the data flow.

Managing your storage

Because the shop does not use cookies, there is no cookie banner. If you wish to remove your data from the shop:

  • Clear your browser's localStorage and sessionStorage for this site to remove your cart and session.
  • Sign out of your Traveller's Keepings to clear your session token, or delete your account entirely in your Preferences.
