Discover✨ Featured Treasure
Every so often the Merchant lifts one curiosity down from the high shelf and sets it where the candlelight can reach it. There is no sign and no fuss — only a treasure left waiting, quite patiently, for whoever happens to be looking for it.
A photograph of this treasure will appear soon.
Set aside by the Merchant
Dusk Before Dawn
A deep bracelet inspired by the hush between night and the first light of morning.
Price £7.00
I made this one during that strange blue hour when the candles have burned low and the birds have not yet decided whether to begin. The beads were meant for something far brighter. They refused, and turned the colour of the sky instead.
It has stayed near the window ever since, because travellers who arrive weary always seem to notice it first. If you have been holding on through a long stretch of night, I rather suspect this one has been waiting for you, and not the other way round.

🕯️ From the Merchant's Desk
Notes, letters and half-finished thoughts left upon the desk between journeys.
Early August, before the shutters were opened
The Traveller with the Emerald Beads
A wandering traveller arrived this morning carrying a small tin box that rattled softly, and would not tell me where it had come from. Inside were emerald beads unlike any I have seen before — green in one light, almost black in another, as though each had swallowed a little of the forest it grew beside.
They are resting on the windowsill now, growing used to the shop. I have not yet decided what they will become. I suspect they already know, and are simply waiting for me to catch up.

A wet evening in late July
A Quiet Evening, and Rather a Lot of Candles
Rain kept the workshop unusually quiet today. Even the candle flames seemed reluctant to dance.
So I spent the evening sorting the drawer of odd findings — the single clasps, the beads without pairs, the little brass charms whose stories I have long since forgotten. Nothing was finished. Everything was tidied. Some evenings that is exactly the right amount of work.
Until our paths cross again,

The first cool morning of the season
Autumn at the Workshop Window
Autumn has begun whispering through the workshop windows again. I suspect darker curiosities will soon appear upon the shelves.
There is a particular hour in late summer when the light turns the colour of old honey and everything upon the workbench looks faintly enchanted. I have been gathering amber, smoke-grey glass and a small handful of acorn caps found along the lane. Something is coming. I am not entirely certain what yet.
